Co-design

We co-design our Living Labs with local organisations, farmers, scientific institutions, businesses and financial actors

Our Living Labs operate as a real-world testing ground where regenerative landscape practices (such as shifting towards agroforestry systems) are combined with value chain innovation (such as using bio-based inputs or materials instead of chemicals) to address the challenges of climate, biodiversity, and livelihoods.

We co-design our Living Labs with local organisations, farmers, scientific institutions, businesses and financial actors.

Rather than starting with a fixed plan, once a location is chosen we carry out a comprehensive assessment of its environmental, social and economic conditions, including landscape mapping, stakeholder engagement and value chain analysis. Then we work with local partners to agree on the most important actions to take.

This process leads to a detailed, fully costed plan for the Living Lab, which outlines exactly the science-backed interventions needed, the governance arrangements and key partnerships for delivery, how success will be measured and evaluated, and how it will be funded over time. The process usually takes around 6 months.
