Building a circular bioeconomy
CBA CEO Marc Palahí was a keynote speaker at the first Regenerative Capital Market Day held at the London Stock Exchange on 8 October, speaking about the transition towards a circular bioeconomy powered by nature.
The event brought together capital markets leaders to explore regenerative agriculture and forestry as a mainstream investment opportunity.

Marc’s vision address focused on how we need to rethink our economy around nature, and move towards a circular bioeconomy. He explained how our economy powered by fossil resources has reached a tipping point, and how we need a paradigm shift to an economy powered by nature. The CBA’s Living Labs are aiming to catalyse this nature-first transition by activating, advancing and sharing knowledge through transformative partnerships and demonstration projects on the ground. This provides a proof of concept to redesign landscapes and supply chains holistically.
“A nature-first economy is about investing in nature to transform our economy, rather than to offset for its failure”, said Marc.

Marc’s speech was complemented by Justin Adams, the CBA’s Reimagining Nature Finance Fellow, whose presentation highlighted the work of the fellowship and the new essay, Designing for Life: Reimagining Nature Finance.
