CBA CEO Marc Palahí’s speech at Yale School of Architecture on Reimagining our Cities highlighted the need for new urban paradigm.
March
We highlighted a Wildfire Resilient Landscapes Network project in Australia, which is rekindling an Indigenous tradition of cultural burns.
Marc Palahí explored the role of nature in Guyana, and we celebrated the International Day of Forests by highlighting the role that trees and forests play in our Living Labs for Regenerative Landscapes.

The scientific approaches and tools that lie behind the CBA’s global network of Living Labs were presented to The King during his visit to Rome.
New research explored AI methods for monitoring water stress in regenerative cotton, within the Apulia Regenerative Cotton Project (a CBA Living Lab 1.0).

What is agroforestry design and how is it used in our Living Labs? We explored with Pretaterra how it works and what the benefits are.

The ”la Caixa” Foundation became our first CBA Custodian Member. Our Chief Scientist Giuseppe Scarascia-Mugnozza was awarded the Biodiversity Award by the National Biodiversity Future Centre.
Marc Palahí spoke at the Nature Action: Mobilising Frameworks and Finance event as part of London Climate Action Week.

The King joined the opening ceremony of the first ever Harmony Summit at Highgrove Gardens which was organised by The King’s Foundation in partnership with the CBA and the Earth Elders.
One of the dialogue circles at the Summit brought together Indigenous leaders, finance practitioners, scientists and policy thinkers to focus on Reimagining Nature Finance.
August
Wildfire Resilient Landscapes Network members were active: in Canada Indigenous knowledge sessions took place as part of the Whitefeather Forest Initiative training programme for young Pikangikum firefighters. In Australia, two new collaborative research projects were awarded funding by the Harmony Centre.
September
Federico Marchetti joined the Board of Trustees, and we announced the appointment of the first CBA Fellow on Artificial Intelligence for a Nature-First Economy.
An immersive workshop at Wytham Woods hosted in partnership with the Leverhulme Centre for Nature Recovery at the University of Oxford explored new pathways for nature finance.
October
We launched a new essay exploring how finance might be designed differently, drawing on the deep design traits of nature itself. Designing for Life: Reimagining Nature Finance asked the question: what kind of finance would truly serve life?
The King joined scientists, experts and indigenous leaders at St James’s Palace to explore the role nature plays in health. During the event, the CBA and The King’s Foundation announced a new joint initiative on nature and health at Highgrove Gardens.
November
From regenerative cotton to t-shirts: we saw the first tangible results from the Apulia Regenerative Cotton Project.
We launched the CBA Himalayan Regenerative Fashion Living Lab, which aims to support herder communities to produce regenerative pashmina.
December
CBA Ambassador Vian Sharif reflected on artificial intelligence and nature, and the work of the CBA Fellowship.
